Young Adult Study Series: Christians and Police: Pursuing a Deeper Justice
June 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Since the start of the Derek Chauvin trial, three people have been killed by the police in the US every day. Disproportionately, these are Black people, Indigenous people, and People of Color. As Christians, we are called to work with God in revealing the Kin–dom of God on Earth, transforming all our social structures to reflect our hope for peace, justice, and liberation, and our trust in God’s redeeming grace. This four–session series of discussions taking place over the course of eight weeks will lay scriptural and theological groundwork for thinking about policing, explore the history and purpose of policing in the US, highlight relevant issues in policing and incarceration today, and cast a vision for alternatives to policing. Email [email protected]to get link to these constructive conversations in loving community where we imagine a better world and take steps to make this a reality.
